IT Synergy releases a geo-traceability solution for the Green Corridor Project

Green Corridor ProjectAfter some months of development, IT Synergy releases the first beta version of the Geo-Traceability Solution for the Green Corridor Project. Exported products can be tracked all the way back to the farm where they were cultivated, the type of seeds used, the fertigation and irrigation program, among other variables. The tracking also include data from the harvesting up to the packing house and shipping to the final destination, Having all information available and easily updated through a mobile phone.

The Green Corridor Initiative aims to strengthen the cooperation between Italy and Egypt in the agro-food sector. Its objective is to increase the export of Egyptian fruits and vegetables towards Italy and, through Italy, towards Europe, as well as to open the Egyptian markets to some Italian fruits and vegetables. All this taking advantage of the complementary seasonality that allows Egyptian producers to reach the Italian market while they will not compete with the local production. It is most important for Egypt to establish partnerships with Italian farmers and to increase the investment in this sector. The final result will be new job openings and the opportunity for local operators to acquire new skills and to contribute significantly to the growth of the Egyptian GDP.

More information can be obtained from the Green Corridor website, developed by IT Synergy: http://www.green-corridor.com or http://www.corridoio-verde.com
