Syria Territorial Information System

This project is a pioneer initiative targeting the development of a Territorial Information System.

At the end of the project a territorial Information system will be established for the 4 fields of the El Hassekeh governorate. This is a joint effort of the Agronomic Mediterranean Institute and the Italian Cooperation to provide best-practices and to develop a Territorial Information system (TIS) based on a Geographical Information System (GIS).

The GIS/TIS project component is carried-on by IT Synergy in coordination with the project team and under the supervision of the Italian Cooperation.

This component is expected to be completed by the end of December 2007, being the final deliverable a fully fledged TIS to help decision makers of the El Hassakeh Governatorate in the management of water resources.

The final objective is the improvement of the sufficient usage for water resources with the best yield production in the governorate.
